Post Doctoral Research Associate (French Applied Linguistics)

 

This appointment is part-time (40%), fixed-term for 7 months (1 March – 30 September 2011)

 

Applications are invited for the position of Post Doctoral Research Associate on the two-year ESRC-funded research project “Learning French from ages 5, 7 and 11: An investigation into starting ages, rates and routes of learning amongst early foreign language learners at Newcastle University (UK) (2009-11). You will be involved in all aspects of the project and you will make a special contribution to data handling, coding and analysis on this collaborative project with the University of Southampton.

You will hold a doctorate in a relevant area of linguistics/ applied linguistics/ first or second language acquisition, and have a good working knowledge of French. You will also have experience of working with the CHILDES software tools, including CHAT, CLAN and MOR.
