One full-time position for a doctoral student

A full-time 3-years doctoral position is available in February 2011 at the Laboratoire de Recherche en Neuroimagerie (LREN - www.unil.ch/lren) in Lausanne, Switzerland.

The PhD project is part of the Neuroimaging platform of the new Swiss National Centre of Competence in Research (NCCR) entitled “SYNAPSY – Synaptic Mechanisms of Mental diseases”. The NCCR SYNAPSY focuses on the interface between preclinical research and clinical development, combining basic neuroscience with psychiatry.
The project will focus primarily on applications of neuroimaging methods using structural and functional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) combined with genetic and behavioural data. The PhD is based at LREN but also involves close collaboration with research programs at the University of Lausanne (UNIL), the University of Geneva (UNIGE), the University of Basel, the University Hospitals of Lausanne (CHUV) and Geneva (HUG), and the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL).
Applicants must hold a master degree in one of the following disciplines: bioinformatics, computational science, psychology, neuroscience or neuropsychology.
