The tapes were part of a resource pack called 'Making the Grade' designed to assist departments to prepare for subject review. These were excellent examples of genuine teaching (no role playing or using actors etc). Each example was about 15 to 20 minutes and they had the advantage that the staff who had been filmed had given their permission for the resources to be used for staff development. These examples are looking very dated now and also video tapes is an old technology. Does anyone have a resource which includes downloadable digital recordings of higher education teaching - preferably showing different types of teaching in different subjects? At the present time, I am particularly looking for examples of teaching in medicine or dentistry, but I would be interested in examples from any discipline. We would be willing to pay for the resource if necessary. Do any of the CETLs, for example, have any digital films of teaching? I know of one in art and design (fashion) that was produced by the RCA as part of the Design CETL. But are there any others in the health-related CETLs? I would be grateful for any leads!
