The University of Nottingham is happy to announce one AHRC-funded Doctoral Studentship (Music), one Doctoral Studentship (Humanities - including Music), and one Overseas Research Scholarship - fees only (Humanities - including Music), each for entry in September 2011.  The studentships pays UK/EU fees and a maintenance grant (full-time grant is for up to three years at approx £13,600 per annum; part-time grant is for up to five years and is approx £8,200 per annum).

The Music Department has a world-class reputation and enjoys research and teaching specialisms in early music, music on stage and screen, twentieth-century and contemporary music and society (popular music, jazz, ethics, political economy) and music and geography.
