Hi list, Just wanting to get your views on what you think is a reasonable charge for an NHS Consultant to produce a medical report. we have requested for a report for a young lad who spent about two weeks in a Psychiatric unit for psychosis treatment. He is now under the care of the community team (where the consultant is based). The consultant has requested a charge of £450 plus 10% charge for secretarial input. I think this charge is too much considering the patient is already under his care. Given that we are requesting for an NHS treatment report to aid this young lad's process of getting back to work rather than for legal reason should this charge be this high?
