Health Foundation Improvement Science Fellowships open for application

Funding for full-time salary and research costs over three years.

The Health Foundation has launched a new programme in the emerging field of improvement science: www.health.org.uk/isf . The Improvement Science Fellowships offer funding for three years to develop original, applied research dedicated to improving healthcare in the UK.

Fellows will receive:

- funding for three years for salary and research costs
- personalised leadership development training
- access to the Health Foundation Improvement Science Network, an international network of experts from disciplines within the field of improvement science.

The Health Foundation is an independent charity working to continuously improve the quality of healthcare in the UK. Through the Improvement Science Fellowship programme we aim to make a major contribution to the development of the field of improving health services.

Applicants for the fellowship must be experienced in research or healthcare practice relating to improvement science, have a PhD or MD, and be passionate about growing improvement science. We will consider any subject that supports scientific efforts to improve healthcare. This includes disciplines from across health services research, from sociology to statistics, psychology to health economics.

If you think this opportunity might be for you, visit www.health.org.uk/isf to find out more and apply online. Or, if you have colleagues who may be interested, please do forward them the details.

The deadline for submitting an application form and research proposal is 5pm Monday 14 February 2011.
