italian-studies: Scholarly discussions in any field of Italian studies Hello and Greetings from Ecuador, The university where I work has asked me to look for a good textbook to teach Italian at undergrad level. It is possible that there will be a distance education course as well for Italian. We could purchase the books directly from the publisher in the UK, Italy or the US. As a graduate of Italian, I am somewhat familiar with the older titles. However, I would be interested in hearing from professors who are using newer publications. I originally thought of recommending:* **Lingua Italiana Per Stranieri Corso Elem *(Italian Edition) [Paperback] Katerinov<http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=ntt_athr_dp_sr_1?_encoding=UTF8&sort=relevancerank&search-alias=books&field-author=Katerinov>(Author). My personal view is that the textbook should have a strong grammar component, as opposed to lots of communicative activities. Thank you in advance for your help, guidance and suggestions. Sincerely, Paul Cahén, BA Italian (Royal Holloway), MA in progress Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja San Cayetano Alto s/n Loja, Ecuador C.P.:11-01-608 Tel: 593 72570275, Ext. 2971 Cel: 593- 801-98653 Skype: paul.cahen ********************************************************************** To join the list, send the message: join italian-studies YOUR NAME to: [log in to unmask] To send a message to the list, address it to: [log in to unmask] To leave the list, send the message: leave italian-studies to: [log in to unmask] In order to report problems or to contact the list's owners, write to: [log in to unmask] For further information, visit our web site: http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/lists/italian-studies.html
