As a result of this conversation I am speaking to our systems people to do this automatically, we use EBS and Maytas. One problem would be learners who have only partial achievement though

On this subject still, does any college have the A60 field automatically populated for finishers with full achievement or do you go into each learner manually and enter this data?

It used to be possible to get credit values from NDAQ but as this doesn’t exist anymore, and its replacement RRQ is not very user friendly, I would suggest using the awarding body websites.  Most have credit values against units and total credit value.

Another point to mention is that actual credit value achieved must be recorded in A60 – not just the credits required for the qualification when the learner has achieved.

Hi Alan

Their planned credit value should be in the ILR anyway – I would never exceed this amount for full achievers so as to make sure there are no inconsistencies with data in the ILR return.

For info on credit value and the structure of quals, I use, as well as the awarding body, the Learning Aims Database.

Subject: QCF Credits

Hello,

Can anyone offer advice as to how they are identifying the overall amount of QCF credits for successful learners? I know via Edexcel the total amount will be on the Notification of Performance certificate we receive with the overall cert, but for others I am not so sure.

Kind Regards,

Alan
