DCMI-NKOS workshop report and plan [Note: Minutes of the workshop and a follow-up meeting is attached. It is a very long notes even though the presentation slides were not included.  Below is a summary which we sent to Makx last Monday, but did not realize we should send to the AB.  Thanks Makx to reminder us.]

DCMI-NKOS 2010 November report

Summary: The DCMI-NKOS Task Group[1] met during the DC2010 conference as workshop[2] and continued the meeting during ASIST Annual Meeting. Task group members that were assigned sub-tasks did presentations and led the discussions.  The discussions were first on KOS Type Vocabulary and then around the first two components required by the Guidelines for Dublin Core Application: Functional Requirements, Domain Model.  In addition to the KOS Type Vocabulary, the activity for registering semantic relationships is added for discussing. A Domain Model draft based on a general FRBR-based model seemed to have obtained consensus. However the Group felt that further research on use cases are needed before the Description Set Profile and Usage Guidelines (including Metadata terms and Usage Guidelines) can be discussed.  This will be the next focus of the Group work.

Minutes of the workshop and follow-up meeting is attached. It is a very long notes even though the presentation slides were not included.  Thanks to Margie Hlava for taking the minutes!
Task Group members attended: Diane Vizine-Goetz,  Marjie Hlava, Doug Tudhope, Traugott Koch, Ahsan Morshed,  Maja Zumer, Gail Hodge, Marcia Zeng
