Duration: 3 days. Price: 975 GBP. This course is aimed at statisticians, and other data analysts, who wish to learn how to analyse their data from a Bayesian perspective using WinBUGS. Although the emphasis is on practical methods of data analysis, concepts of Bayesian inference are introduced and MCMC methods are carefully explained. The course provides ample opportunity for hands-on practical work with WinBUGS and R. No prior knowledge of either is assumed. Starting from simple ideas, a Bayesian modelling framework is developed covering generalised linear models, hierarchical models and a variety of applications. The course also covers MCMC diagnostics and methods of model checking and selection. ******Location****** The Statistical Services Centre at Whiteknights campus, University of Reading is in a prime location in the South-East of England and has excellent transport links. The University is close to the M4 motorway allowing easy access by car. Reading's railway station has high speed links to and from London Paddington, as well as regular services to and from other cities around the UK.
