Hello list,

  I'm looking for an excellent numerate graduate (BSc or MSc level) interested in working on:

CASE PhD studentship in Quality Assurance of Observational Data: A Bayesian Data Assimilation Approach.

The project will develop a Bayesian inferential framework to infer observational quality using a combination of measurements of known quality and models of the spatio-temporal behaviour of the near surface meteorological fields. A range of models, including high resolution numerical weather prediction models will be used.

Summary Information:

Location: Aston University, Birmingham, UK
Closing date: 17th December 2010
Financial support: EPSRC standard rate (£13,290+£3,000 from CASE award) per year
Requirements: Good numerate degree, UK citizen or EU and worked in UK 3 years / studied in UK 3 years.
Start date: January 2011 - June 2011, negotiable.
