Hi Faith,
I know this isn’t really ‘outsourcing’, but in
the past we have relied upon our Human Resources Department to send out Exit
Questionnaires with their ‘leavers’ documentation, with our return
address enclosed (i.e. self-addressed envelope enclosed so that questionnaires
are sent directly to us in Equality and Diversity Services for
analysis/action). However, the return rate dropped from approximately 25% in
2008 (where it had remained for 3 years) to 15% in 2009.
Since November 2009, Equality and Diversity Services have taken
ownership of the process of sending out the Exit Questionnaires too, to see if
this improves the response rate. At present it is still a manual exercise, and
we record responses using Access. With such a low response rate, this is quite
manageable at present!
Hope this helps,
Regards,
Angela

Dear
colleagues,
I realise this is not specifically equality related but I hope you
can help. We
are looking at whether or not to outsource staff exit
surveys. I would be grateful if you could please get in touch (off line
if you prefer) if your HEI outsources this process, and if so what costs you incur to do this and whether you
consider it good value for money.
We've
had an approach from a company called Talent Drain, so if you have prior experience of this company it would
be helpful to know what you think of their service.
Thanks,
Faith
