Do you need to organise your records better, but don’t know how to make a
start? Not sure if sample filing structures will really fit your museum? Not
sure how to organise your electronic records in the museum?
Once you have recognised the need to organise your
records, this may seem a daunting task and it can be tricky to make a start.
This practical half-day workshop gives step-by-step guidance on how to
organise your records in a way that fits the people in your museum. Ideally,
this will build on a records management policy.
Although this session builds on the popular Nuts and Bolts of Museum Records Management
workshop, it is not necessary to have attended it; the session is designed for
museum workers (paid or volunteers) already involved in developing records
management in their own institution. If you are in the process of developing a
file plan, please bring it along for discussion.
The workshop will be lead by Samira Teuteberg, London
Museums Hub Records Management Advisor and Charlotte Brunskill, Archivist and
Records Manager at the National Portrait Gallery.
