A communications post is available in the communications team at EGI.eu, an
organisation running the grid computing infrastructure for Europe.

*Dissemination Officer: CLOSING DATE 15 OCTOBER*

*Job Summary*

The EGI.eu Dissemination Officer will create engaging, high quality copy and
graphics for EGI’s websites, newsletters, leaflets, articles and external
communications channels, including social media sites. The Dissemination
Officer will also assist in promoting the organisation through attending
events around Europe, and will work to publicise EGI's two major annual
conferences, the Technical Forum and the User Forum. They will work in a
small central team of a Dissemination Manager, Science Writer and NGI
Dissemination Coordinator, with additional support from a geographically
dispersed team around Europe. They will be skilled at communicating complex
technical or scientific content to audiences ranging from the general public
and policy/decision makers to academics and technical experts. Reporting to
the Dissemination Manager, they will have a strong background in
science/technical writing or public relations for events. The post would
also suit candidates with good experience of graphic design and desktop
publishing.

*Job Purpose & Responsibilities*
To create content and graphics for EGI.eu’s various dissemination channels
(e.g. website, articles, newsletters, posters, leaflets, etc.) [40%]
To interview technical experts within the EGI Collaboration and its
collaborating projects to produce written articles and videos. [30%]
To maintain the content on the website, wiki site, social media channels and
intranet. [20%]
To contribute and implement the EGI.eu dissemination strategy. [10%]

*Working with...*
With the Chief Administrative Officer to contribute to the EGI.eu
dissemination strategy and to supports its implementation.
With the Director as a source of material for the monthly Director’s letter.
With the Senior Management Teams as a source of material for the quarterly
newsletter, website and wiki.
With the EGI.eu staff and other members of the EGI community to gather
material for news articles and stories.

*Additional Requirements*
Excellent written English.
Good experience in graphic design and desktop publishing.
Previous experience in science journalism, technical writing, public
relations or the public understanding of science.
