I agree with Julian and I don't think advertising should be banned. Eventhough it's for sharing knowledge and good practice, I think advertising is also important. However, I do learn a lot by reading Jiscmail.

Hi Anne,
whilst i don't contribute much these days and accept that we all have different opinions on recruitment, when i
was made redundant i found my new job via this site, so would promote OH job advertising via JISC mail as the
people who also benefit from such advertising are nurses who actually need work.  There is a danger that the academic
fraternity of occupational health can become divorced from the reality of the needs of the average occupational health
nurse/advisor. If this view does not find favour then i expect i'll also be banned. Long live freedom of speech.
If everybody is so het up about this why can't a system of charging be introduced with the proceeds going to
an appropriate charity.
