Newsflash!
Call to action! Read on to find out how to promote your activities
on brand new BBC ‘Things To Do’ website
We're
delighted to announce that Culture24 has become the official
cultural data provider to the BBC.
This
exciting 3-year partnership gives UK museums, galleries, and heritage
sites - that's
you! - the opportunity to register with us as a BBC
partner and promote your activities via our Direct Data Entry (DDE)
database, on the BBC's new 'Things To Do' activities website.
Marks, set, go!
Things
To Do will launch in mid-October so you need to register with us as soon
as you can if you'd like to be in on this exciting opportunity to reach a
huge new audience from the start.
To
qualify, activities need to
- Be
participatory
- Be
run by either publicly-funded or non-profit venues or organisations
- Relate
to one of the BBC's subject themes (read on for more details about
these)
The
partnership launches with a spotlight on history-themed events and
activities to support the Hands on History project - kicking off with the
BBC One series, Turn Back Time - The High Street.
You
can download the BBC's Hands
on History offer for more info, including details of fab, free, Turn
Back Time resources for your visitors. So - we're after a wide range of
history-themed activities plus, more specifically, activities relating to
the history of the high street, its buildings and the people who made
their lives there. They should all take place on or after October 25th.
If you
are already a partner and contributing content via your regional BBC
learning project manager, please continue to do so for activities
happening before November 7th.
For activities which take place after November 7th, you'll need to switch
to the Culture24 DDE system.
This is the lovely Conrad, our fabulous new activities
editor.
