Any information would be useful to
us as well, although in my experience this has never been an issue here, but
there is always a first time.

Please respond directly to Benjamin Gershaw as I am sending this

Are
you aware of what procedures are followed if a student wants to miss an exam to
attend Friday prayers or has a religious holiday? I am talking about public
examinations or exams which are fixed on a date whether on a Friday or
religious holiday. This hasn’t happened in my time here, I was wondering if it
had occurred at any other campus as we have had a ‘heads up’ about it!
(Specifically the NEBOSH National General Certificate Exams in December and
June). I have checked the JCQ guidelines that cover reasonable adjustments and
special consideration an religious holidays are not mentioned. There is a
list of circumstances and they are mainly linked with death and illness.
I am sure that if a student missed an exam due to a religious holiday it would
mean re sitting at a future date, although the NEBOSH exams are always held on
a Friday.
Many
thanks
