English Writing Instructor and Coordinator
 
John Cabot University, a small accredited American liberal arts college in Rome, 
Italy, invites applications for a full time instructor and coordinator in 
English composition.  The position will cover the following areas:  manage the 
Writing Lab; coordinate composition classes, curriculum, and scheduling; 
administer and supervise English composition placement exams; undertake 
assessment of English composition learning; and coordinate all aspects of 
writing instruction at the University.  The ideal candidate would be able to 
undertake initiatives appropriate to the Institution’s mission and goals, have 
the ability to work within a diverse cultural context of students and faculty, 
be a team player, collegial and with a professional demeanor.  Minimum 
requirements:  MA in Composition, English or related fields and TOEFL, TEFL, 
TESOL, or IELTS Certification.  Teaching and administrative experience in the US 
higher education system and technological expertise in language and writing 
instruction are important for the position.  This is a two year appointment with 
the possibility of tenure, at the instructor level, after two years.  Applicants
