From Kenneth Lapatin's review in the TLS of The Hoxne Late Roman Treasure by Catherine Johns, British Museum Press:

"Eric Lawes [the discoverer, with metal detector, of the hoard], who has been celebrated in pop songs as well as the press, was awarded £1.75million, which he shared with his friend, the tenant farmer, whose lost hammer [that they had been attempting to find with said metal detector] was eventually found and donated to the British Museum (catalogue no 410). This, too, has become part of the hoard's context - a direct link to identifiable individuals. For while objects may document history, people make it compelling."

The 99th object in the Museum's History of the World series?
