Dear Melissa,
Thanks for keeping me informed about
BNIM-Ireland. I’d love to be able to join in, but this isn’t
possible. It’s great to be able to create a BNIM meta-panel to support
one’s work beyond your geographical local resources, so congratulations
to all concerned, and I hope you all work out good ways of supporting and
interesting each other. Obviously, more general problems / insights arising out
of each person’s own more particular lived experience of doing BNIM could
be a great method. Or you might BNIM interview each other on “My story of
doing BNIM up to now, all the events and experiences” might be a really
powerful way of getting beyond academic abstraction!
I’ve just come back from giving a
BNIM 1-day ‘taste; in Wrozlav (
If any more general issues come out of
this or later meetings of BNIM-Ireland, do share them with the e-list!
Best wishes
Tom

Dear Colleagues,
Just to remind you of our forthcoming BNIM Ireland meeting which will be held
next Thursday (not Friday as was previously circulated - apologies for any
inconvenience caused by this error). We are meeting at 4pm in the Royal
College of Surgeons, Stephen's Green,
The issue of BNIM and its relationship with theoretical perspectives/frameworks
will be discussed at this meeting. If anyone would like to suggest a topic
for discussion at this (or indeed subsequent) meetings - do let me know.
In addition to discussing BNIM issues - the paper we are going to review for
our next meeting is: Jones, K. 2003. The turn to a narrative
knowing of persons: One method explored. Nursing
Times Research. (8), p. 60-71. This can be accessed
electronically from the author's website www.kipworld.net
I look forward to seeing you there,
Kind regards,
Melissa
