A quarter of
British ex-soldiers sleep rough when they return home.
An impressionistic
portrait of the emotional and physical aftermath of war, Isolation follows
Photographer and ex-soldier Stuart Griffiths as he travels across England
uncovering the stories behind the military statistics. This bold documentary
explores the personal demons and uncertain futures faced by soldiers leaving
the army.
Join us for a
screening of Isolation followed by a panel discussion and projection of a
selection of Stuart Griffiths’ photographs. Speakers include film makers Luke Seomore & Joseph Bull,
Photographer Stuart Griffiths and Prof Simon Wessely, Director, King’s
Centre for Military Health Research, King’s College London and Trustee of
Combat Stress. Chair: Dr Suzannah Biernoff,
Lecturer in Modern and Contemporary Visual Culture, Birkbeck.
