This is a further reminder about the free Read the Past: Write the Future events.  Places at some of these are filling up fast but there is still space at this week’s sessions at Leeds Central Library:
 
Friday 29th October 2010, Leeds Central Library
 
9.15 – 13.00 “Using literature in your work with different age groups”
Speakers include Pam Riding from Huddersfield Local Studies Library talking about their work with early years children and the intergenerational project, The Holmfirth Tiger; and Sue Newby from Bronte Parsonage talking about their Literature in Context project.
 
14.00 – 17.15 “Using literature to engage the hard to reach”
Speakers include Amy Mackelden, FE teacher and writer, on the topic of “Objects, Memoir and Micro-fiction: inspiring children and young people to respond to museum collections”; and Debbie Mynott, Manager of Stories from the Web, talking about Using ICT to engage with new audiences.
 
Events are free and delegates are welcome to book for one or both sessions (although please note that lunch will not be provided).
