Dear Esau

Thai you so much for your verbal review of my paper, I heard from my head of school – Mary Duker, I am glad that I made an impression to a scholar in one of the most accredited institutions in the country and globally. I am glad that you sent this e-mail otherwise it would have taken me longer to write this message of appreciation.

Once again, a big thank you.

Zoliswa

Dear All Who are Newly Joined to this listserve, HELLO!

Thank you, Jack, for setting ARAN up for us! This is so very exciting! I am looking forward to hearing from the other Action Researchers in Africa ... the one’s I already know, and the one’s I do not yet know ...

I work at the Durban University of Technology where we are blessed with a lively group of self study action research practitioner-researchers. We call ourselves SeStuTHESA which is the acronym for “Self Study for Transformative Higher Education and Social Action”. Thirteen of us recently travelled (mostly by road -29 hours there and back!) to Nelson Mandela Bay to the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University to present 15 papers at the Action Research Seminar which focused on the transformative potential of action research. This was a most stimulating adventure, and we returned weary, but with even more evidence, to add to our own, of the transformative potential of self study action research!!!

Thank you Professor Lesley Wood and your team at NMMU for arranging the seminar, and to Professor Otieno, DVC TIP at DUT, for funding the trip for us all.

We are currently submitting our writing for peer review for the conference proceedings, and we hope that these writings will be available for others to read.

I am looking forward to reading and writing many postings on Action Research Africa Network!

Take care

Joan
