Dear colleague:

A position for a lecturer (assistant professor) in the area of ultrafast physical chemistry is available in the School of Chemistry at the University of Glasgow. The ideal candidate would be interested in ultrafast femtosecond spectroscopy of the condensed phase or an allied area. Brand new lab space will be available. More information is available at http://www.gla.ac.uk/jobs/vacancies/ (select college: “College of Science and Engineering” or search for “ultrafast”). The successful candidate will be working alongside myself (more information at http://www.chem.gla.ac.uk/staff/wynne/) and will have an opportunity to collaborate with colleagues at the University of Glasgow and the University of Strathclyde (which is about 10 minutes away). The closing date for applications is 29 October 2010.

The University of Glasgow was founded in 1451 and is the fourth oldest university in the English-speaking world. It is a member of the prestigious Russell Group of leading UK research universities and in the top 1% of universities in the world. The University and the School of Chemistry are situated in the West End of Glasgow, which is home to cafés and bars hidden down cobbled lanes, world-famous restaurants blended with a mix of shops, Victorian architecture, and museums, galleries and parks.

Best wishes, Klaas
