Hi
While upgrading the RAL top-level BDIIs last week, I spotted
a few inconsistencies (including the “Latitude Change” http://www.gridpp.rl.ac.uk/blog/2010/09/14/ral-tier1-takes-unexpected-excursion-to-suffolk/).
The main thing I noticed was that “opinion is divided”
between the UK Tier2s on how to refer to the Tier1. According to:
http://goc.grid.sinica.edu.tw/gocwiki/How_to_publish_my_site_information
(link given to me in a GGUS ticket when I queried this), the
parameter WLCG_PARENT should be set to UK-T1-RAL whereas some sites are
using RAL-LCG2.
Here’s the state of play:
EFDA-JET, RAL-LCG2
UKI-LT2-Brunel, RAL-LCG2
UKI-LT2-IC-HEP, UK-T1-RAL
UKI-LT2-QMUL, UK-T1-RAL
UKI-LT2-RHUL, UK-T1-RAL
UKI-LT2-UCL-HEP, UK-T1-RAL
UKI-NORTHGRID-LANCS-HEP, RAL-LCG2
UKI-NORTHGRID-LIV-HEP, RAL-LCG2
UKI-NORTHGRID-MAN-HEP, RAL-LCG2
UKI-NORTHGRID-SHEF-HEP, RAL-LCG2
UKI-SCOTGRID-DURHAM, RAL-LCG2
UKI-SCOTGRID-ECDF, RAL-LCG2
UKI-SCOTGRID-GLASGOW, UK-T1-RAL
UKI-SOUTHGRID-BHAM-HEP, RAL-LCG2
UKI-SOUTHGRID-BRIS-HEP, RAL-LCG2
UKI-SOUTHGRID-CAM-HEP, RAL-LCG2
UKI-SOUTHGRID-OX-HEP, RAL-LCG2
UKI-SOUTHGRID-RALPP, UK-T1-RAL
AFAIK, nothing is broken by the variation but might as well
be tidied up next time the BDII config is being updated.
Cheers,
Richard.
PS: The same is true of how Tier1 sites refer to CERN but
that’s another story ...
