hi
Sorry havent needed green book for a while....Isn't tetnus 5 in your life and you're done? (three pre school, pre school booster, and again as a teen)
Except tetanus prone injury which I recall being a mucky garden fork through your welly and foot...not quite sure why i got one after a dog bite though as tetanus is soil borne- suppose it may have licked/chewed its feet before sinking them into me!
equine and groundsmaintainence staff should be checked that they have had theirs and personally I would do the...."check with your GP and if you havent had the full course of 5 make an appt at the surgery to complete it"..line.
'Suppose grave diggers may fall into that category if they have a shovel but if they use minidiggers then there should be no soil contact.
On the other side ....We know that if you have a cut that warrants a 5 hour trip to A&E unless you can give "written evidence of full course of tetanus vaccine from a UK accredited source or proof of booster within last 10 years identifying exact date and time" (Tongue firmly in cheek!!!!).... you get another and a fortnight off work with a horrific reaction as you have enough antibodies for the street and if you are lucky it is your arm that wont move...unlucky and you cant sit down for a month. why cant they just take blood and if there are no antibodies....let me know!
maybe you should set off the " we only give tetanus in the bum" rumour...bet they wont be so keen then!
Its late...I know!
Jacqui
