medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture Re: Zachariah & Elizabeth It so happens that I have today uploaded to my Flickr site an image of the Naming of John the Baptist taken in York Minster on Monday. It was originally from the Church of St John the Evangelist, Micklegate, and was given to the Dean and Chapter in 1939 for preservation during the War and thereafter given to the Cathedral by the Archbishop. The glass deals, inter-alia, with the life of St John the Baptist and dates from around 1340, being made by the workshop of Master Robert, responsible for the Great West Window of the Cathedral (also on my Flickr pages).
