I hadn’t heard about this either, so asked our journal subscription agent if it applied to us too, with our two Elsevier/Science Direct subscriptions.  The answer was yes…

I haven't heard anything about this.  Does anyone know if it applies to all libraries or is it, perhaps, just those with numerous subscriptions - I only take one Elsevier journal here so am wondering if this will apply to me.

we are also affected by this and according to my calculations it will cost more than double (115%) to keep our print journals with e top-ups.

 

I am outraged but don't know what to do about it. Do you have e top-ups or e-only? There appears to be a large price increase for both. Plus VAT will be increasing.

Hi

We recently received a notice from Elsevier to say that our licence with Science Direct would expire at the end of the year because:

"the tariff methodology for Elsevier Health Sciences titles to NHS institutions has changed" and that we are to be shunted over to another Elsevier product  called  Journals Consult.

I am curious to know whether any other NHS libraries have had this sort of notice and whether the change will  significantly affected the prices of journals they get from Elsevier.
