Join us for 'What's New with IEEE Xplore' - a free session hosted by IEEE and Content Online Ltd!

IEEE and Content Online will be sponsoring a number of free IEEE Xplore digital library training sessions in October 2010. Each session will provide in-depth training on the new, redesigned IEEE Xplore platform, including a new search engine, institutional branding and saved search capabilities.

Information professionals are invited to attend these free sessions to learn time-saving search techniques for finding technology content using IEEE Xplore, the online delivery platform for IEEE products.

During the live demonstrations, presented by IEEE Client Services Manager George Plosker, participants will learn about:

 

·      The new IEEE eLearning Library now available from IEEE

·      IEEE Xplore authentication, now available via Athens and Shibboleth

·      IEEE-Wiley eBooks Library

·      Advanced search features such as field searching, wildcards and proximity searching

·      Searching by author affiliation or country

·      Personalisation options like creating email and RSS alerts on your favourite journals

·      Understanding the Abstract Record

·      Alternatives to Google and Google Scholar

·      New features that are planned for 2011 and beyond
