Subject: Hungary's Shadow Report

Hi all,

Below is link for the Executive Summary (26 pages) of Hungary's Shadow Report. The SR itself is too big - a glossy pdf doc of 36 Mb (245 pages) - to attach to this email but you can download a copy from the MDAC website:

    http://www.mdac.info/crpd-shadow-report

This report is of particular interest as MDAC played a key role in its preparation and in particular Gabor Gombos, who was elected to the CRPD Committee last week and was until recently a co-chair of WNUSP. It is also relevant because Hungary in many ways is at the "cutting edge" of embracing the CRPD in Europe, which is curious in some ways given that they have huge numbers of people under guardianship or equivalent - I was told 80,000 (this includes psychiatric) out of a population of 10 million.

Cheers - David
