Re: [ACADEMIC-STUDY-MAGIC] How many demons can fit in one person? Lisha,

I got this reply from Peter (below), that a legion had 6000 soldiers at one time. And Jacqueline I should have better phrased the question as what is the most reported number of demons in one individual either via myth or history, as opposed to how many could fit, just looking for something to reference, appreciate all the replies, thanks

Wait, how big was a Roman Legion? Because wasn't there that one person who was called "Legion" because they had a legion of demons in them?

The renowned 10th century abbot Aelfric of Eynsham understood the Roman legion to consist of 6000 troops (which it did for a while, at its peak). He thus construed the "legion" of demons in the Gerasene Demoniac episode (Mark 5.1-20) to mean that the individual in question had 6000 demons in him. They were all then cast out into nearby swine.
