The appointee will be expected to: establish mechanisms that increase the extent of alcohol and drug content provided in undergraduate and postgraduate courses across the Faculty; foster and promote research; play an active role in the enhancement of academic standards and the development of curriculum; and provide leadership and direction for Addictions across the Faculty. The successful candidate will have: a research doctorate in a discipline relevant to addiction; an international reputation for outstanding research; a record of obtaining external grants for research; proven excellence in teaching; and highly developed skills of leadership, networking and management. The University may consider applicants for appointment at senior lecturer level. Candidates for appointment at that level are also encouraged to apply. The appointment will be for an initial period of five years.
