Hi John, I think that what you see here is aliasing of your images in the phase encoding direction, which happens at acquisition. Is your phase encoding direction left-right? See http://www.mr-tip.com/serv1.php?type=db1&dbs=Aliasing You should scan a larger FOV, eg not cutting off the brain at the edges. You should consult your MR physicist. So when im right this has nothing to do with image format conversions or thelike. I am not aware of a trick to get rid of aliasing when the alias is in the original image.
