POSTDOCTORAL POSITION AT THE MEG UNIT IN BRUXELLES

Whether brain plasticity and memory consolidation evolves in child
development and change with ageing, whether they are impaired in
pathophysiological conditions and what are the neural, molecular and
cellular mechanisms underlying these processes are open issues that need
nowadays to be addressed. Applications are invited for a _post-doc MEG
data analysis/methodology/signal processing position _in the framework
of the ARC project "Pathophysiology of brain plasticity processes in
memory consolidation".

The project will be conducted at the LCFC (Laboratoire de Cartographie
Fonctionnelle Cérébrale - Functional Brain Mapping Laboratory; directors
Patrick Van Bogaert and Serge Goldman) in the MEG unit of the Erasme
Hospital of the Université Libre de Bruxelles, in collaboration with the
UR2NF (Neuropsychology and Functional Neuroimaging Research Unit,
http://dev.ulb.ac.be/ur2nf/, director Philippe Peigneux). The MEG unit
is equipped with a state-of-the-art Elekta Neuromag system,
physiological and cognitive stimulation and response systems,
eye-tracking and EEG.

Candidates are expected to be involved in studies related to the theme
of the project, i.e. mainly memory consolidation processes across normal
and pathological development, and their relation to sleep, to
participate in the development and/or the implementation of novel,
dedicated analysis techniques of MEG data, to provide support to the
analysis of ongoing MEG projects and to pass knowledge and expertise in
the context of a young multidisciplinary team.

Candidates should have a PhD in MEG/EEG data analysis/methodology/signal
processing (or a PhD with equivalent expertise in any relevant domain)
and be familiar with data analysis in MEG, preferentially using SPM
approaches. Good level of MATLAB programming is expected.

Salary will be commensurate with experience within the salary scale of
the Belgian public research system (from 2100 euros net income per
month). Candidates should consider the position for at least two years,
starting in 2010 or beginning 2011. Applications will be considered
until the position is filled.

To submit an application, please send a short statement of interest,
