There were rumours last week that Facebook were about to launch "Facebook Places" which was a method by which anyone on Facebook that had access to a Global Positioning application could locate where you were at any time when you are on Facebook.
Well, Facebook in their wisdom have introduced this surreptitiously over the weekend by default which means that, unless you take steps to opt out of it, your location will automatically be visible to anyone with GP software.
If like me you find this to be an outrage you can opt out as follows:
. Click on "Account"
. "Account Settings"
. "Notifications" tab
. "Places"
. Uncheck the 2 boxes
. Save your changes
