Have you come across Vidiowiki - http://www.vidiowiki.com/ - a video
based knowledge network?

At the moment Vidiowiki is a public engagement tool aimed at researchers
but there may be the option to expand this to the wider science
communication community. It is very easy to use and you can upload
files/add links as well as record video e.g. if an academic gives a
brief talk about their research, they can then upload PDFs of relevant
articles for further reading. There are some excellent search algorithms
that link people and research areas, and it tracks how popular videos
are and highlights them accordingly. It should also be possible to
integrate this with other websites e.g. the Collective Memory. Is anyone
interested in this? I'd be happy to follow this up if it would be useful.

On a more general note, Vidiowiki is open to researchers from any
discipline at any institution so feel free to upload any relevant videos.

Best wishes,

Lara
