Dear all

Invitation to Tender: Motivations, Rewards and Barriers - Engaging the Public in STEM- related Businesses

In Spring 2010, the Science for All expert group published a report and action plan to work towards a vision for a healthy relationship between the sciences and society.

The expert group acknowledged that although there is still work to do in this area, awareness of public engagement activities and infrastructure within STEM academic communities and higher education institutes is reasonably well understood. However the group noted that knowledge of UK public engagement within the private sector was lacking.
As such, The Royal Academy of Engineering and the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills is inviting proposals to undertake a research activity to explore the motivations, rewards and barriers for STEM-related businesses and industry to engage the public.
To receive a copy of the tender, please email [log in to unmask]
All respondents must note their intention to respond to this ITT by 16th August 2010; and to submit their proposal by no later than 3rd September 2010.

With best wishes

Lesley
