This is a fantastic opportunity to manage the delivery of two major RSC Education programmes. These two programmes play an integral part in the RSC's strategic vision of education in the UK..

You will manage the RSC element of the National HE STEM Programme (funded by HEFCE and HEFCW and hosted at the University of Birmingham). You will also oversee 9 regional co-ordinators whose role it is to deliver RSC Education activities in the UK and Ireland.

In order to successfully meet targets, you will manage a team of four direct reports and manage the objectives of seven others based in UK universities.

Essential skills and qualifications

 *   A degree in chemical science or equivalent is essential.
 *   Project, financial and people management skills and experience.
 *   Understanding of the secondary and tertiary education systems in the UK.
 *   Understanding of content and structure of chemical science courses provided by Higher Education Institutions in the UK.
 *   Knowledge and understanding of employment areas for chemical scientists.
 *   Familiarity with careers education.
 *   Proven ability to work effectively as a member of a team and on one's own.
 *   Excellent communication, networking and presentation skills.
 *   Good project and time management skills including the ability to plan and prioritise work, and to meet deadlines under pressure.
 *   Creativity and the ability to generate ideas.
 *   Highly customer focused with experience of developing a wide range of external contacts and excellent interpersonal skills (verbal, written, negotiation, presentation, etc) and an ability to communicate complex ideas to different audiences on various levels.
 *   Good IT skills and abilities.
