Not sure what you mean, Chris--but your mention of Freud made me want to 
restate my position, which is now: "scientific materialism, sanely used, 
is the only way effectively to explain things,"  Freud, whom I do 
consider a scientific materialist, wasn't always wrong, but he was wrong 
more often than right.
