Hi, I am researching the impact of e-journals on ILL's in health libraries. To put the search strategy date range into context I have used statistics for number of e-journals available through 1990's (Okerson 2000), percentage of population owning a PC and practical download speeds for 1990's to 2008 (ONS). The last part I think is the availability to the scientific community of searchable aggregate databases such as the Ovid Gateway as it was, I have found out that Ovid launched its web-based version in 1996 (Peter Jasco 1996) but I remember using Ovid on CD-Rom in 1999. I can't find anything that gives me a timeline as such, but when would you say the internet took over from CD-Rom for resources such as Ovid, and so making them more accessible to the users? Any pointers to papers or your own experiences would be helpful. Many thanks.
