LECTURER IN STATISTICS School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences Auckland University of Technology Auckland The School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences is offering a permanent, full- time lectureship and invites applications from suitably qualified candidates within the field of statistical science. Candidates must have a PhD in a relevant discipline and a strong record of research. Preference will be given to those from one or more of the following areas: applied statistics, statistical computing, data mining, operations research, stochastic models with research applications in business and/or industry in order to contribute to the analytics program. Candidates with a strong record from other fields of statistics are also encouraged to apply for the position. Successful candidates are expected to conduct independent research, as well as the teaching and development of specialised undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The start date will be 1st February 2011 or by negotiation. The Mathematical Sciences program within the School involves Applied Mathematics, Analytics, Astronomy and Computer Science. The opportunity for interdisciplinary research in these fields and business and industry is encouraged as well as possibly with other research groups within the school.
