am curious about the real history of the rabbit's foot charm - what reliable info I can find suggests it is of hoodoo origin and entered UK usage via the wartime US military presence. I have seen claims of great antiquity in Britain, as well as being 'ancient and universal', but I'm reluctant to credit these without a decent source.
