I liked this very much. In particular, the absence of the camera.

As I'm new here, could someone explain the 'snap' thing?

Regards, MG

Subject: Snap: Daffs

The Daffs

Come for a fun walk?
says Will to dotty Dot
they take the creek track
down at a fast clip,

almost jogging, to the lake.
My oath, itıs just spiffing
on a brisk arvo like this:
swamp-hens treading down the muck,

galahs stripping twigs off trees,
kids on trikes, dogs retrieving balls,
family barbecues in the carpark
(its area big as the lake)

sending their way whiffs of burnt steak.
Ah but the flowers yellow and white
by the waterıs edge, the daffs are back -
forget the rest, should be taking snaps -

theyıve come without the camera again.
Ah well, file them in the brain for now,
and later maybe during one of their naps,
the daffs will glow on the mindıs dark screen.
