I think this question was asked at the TurnitinUK user group meeting held just before the 4th International conference on plagiarism in June. From what I remember, the answer from iParadigms was that student work could not be removed from the database once submitted, but the request to do so was noted. I would recommend that you contact your Turnitin help desk or supplier locally and raise the issue with them.

Subject: Deactivate students account from Turnitin

Hi colleagues,

May I seek your advice how the students' accounts can be deactivated once they are graduated? We have contacted Turnitin but they just gave us very vague answers and it seems that accounts cannot be totally deactivated.

Also can the student assignments be taken away from the repository after the accounts have been deactivated?

Thanks.

Chris
