Molecular Dynamics News List Members:

We have an opening for a post doctoral research associate in the Gas
Phase Molecular Dynamics group at Brookhaven National Laboratory for
work in the area of high resolution molecular spectroscopy. The formal
announcement is below and applications including a c.v., publications
list and names of at least three referees can be submitted via the BNL
home page (follow the link for ``jobs'' on the left hand menu bar) or to
myself directly. ([log in to unmask])

Postdoctoral Research Associate Opening
Requires a Ph.D. in physical chemistry, chemical physics, AMO physics,
or similar. Experience in use of modern high resolution laser systems,
fiber lasers, frequency combs, molecular quantum mechanics, and high
resolution spectroscopy is desirable. Research in the Chemistry Gas
Phase Molecular Dynamics group at BNL is centered on the development and
use of high resolution spectroscopic techniques to investigate the
properties and reactions of transient molecular species involved in
combustion chemistry. The candidate will be involved in projects using
new fiber laser frequency combs both to make precise spectroscopic
measurements and to investigate the potential for high sensitivity
broad-band measurements of condensed phase samples using frequency
comb-based instruments developed in the group. Under the direction of
Trevor Sears, Chemistry Department. BNL policy states that Research
Associate appointments may be made to those who have received their
doctoral degrees within the past five years.
