In brief, the binding of hands and feet for burial is nearly universal in OT times and survives in certain cultures to this day. The "wall" reference MAY relate to the fact that a Muslim must be buried with his/her face turned in a certain direction and to achieve this (that the corpse won't fall on its back), the body is placed against the wall/side of the grave.
You didn't specify the period you were looking for and it's possible that current Muslim practices mirror those of the earliest period. If I'm way off the mark, sorry. And I hope someone else will come to your rescue. Best, MG
