Surely plenty of council staff work flexitime, a privilege not usually accorded to front-line library staff.  Many would consider this a far greater perk than the possibility of being  first in the queue for the latest Dan Brown.

Subject: Re: Staff Concessions - new books

Many Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to reply to this post on staff consessions.

For clarification - and as this point hasn't been raised so far - the concern of our Finance Department is that it is unfair on other Council staff that Library staff receive concessions / a perk - while no other Council staff do.  Of course this may just be that these concessions are recorded in the Libraries Procedures Manual while other services do not keep so informed records.
