Information Science Department, Myungji Univesity, Seoul, South Korea. 
	2. Representaive from Springer/Biomed 
Proposals are invited in all
areas related to Libraries, Information and Society, including (but not limited
to) the following tracks: 3rd International
Conference on Libraries, Information and Society. The conference will be held at Armada
Hotel, Petaling Jaya, Kuala Lumpur, between the 9th –
10th (Tuesday & Wednesday)
November 2010.


1. Increasing access to knowledgeTopics: Information regulatory framework, information
infrastructure and access; information policy and governance; information
superhighway; government activity on the Net; Information architecture and
access to government information; high performance information communication
infrastructure and its relation in creating an intellectually informed and
creative society; community information networking, intellectual property
rights; cataloging and classification, metadata / XML searching and retrieval,
web content mapping, security issues, QA of web content, Ontology and the
Semantic web; Open and global platform for access, networked community; digital
community and collaboration; digital divide, informed citizenry; access to
resources to support e-learning.

2. Internationalization of libraries and informationTopics: Managing digital resources; digital initiatives;
digital library; Institutional, national, international repositories; digital
information architecture; information visualization for large databases;
digital information services and systems; information retrieval in an
electronic environment; digital contents management; portal and web design for
digital libraries, information centres and libraries; e-publishing, digital
information archives.

3. Managing information sources and services for greater accessInformation literacy
initiatives; digital reference and services, audio, visual and multimedia
resources, IT literacy readiness in LIS; new marketing approaches in
information delivery; quality issues in managing information; performance
measures; auditing information use and
needs; re-engineering processes; instructional methodology for information
literacy; blogging, problem-based learning, user online instructions; mobile
and wireless technologies; web literacy, net literacy; lifelong literacy,
library security issues. 

4. Research in libraries, information and
society, research, education and training  
Research trends; LIS education;
access to resources to support e-learning; e-education, workforce development;
role of professional bodies in training; continuing education; role of
information and libraries in society; lifelong libraries; accreditation issues 
Papers should focus on research
and/or applications as well as highlighting novel practices and be of
sufficient depth for a 15-20 minute presentation, with time for discussion.
Papers will be reviewed by a panel comprising professionals, academicians and
practitioners in the Asia-Pacific region. Authors must submit their papers
latest by the 

Guidelines for Full
papers20th of August 2010. The successful authors will be notified by 10 September 2010. The dateline for the submission of accepted amended
papers for inclusion in the conference proceeding is 24 September 2010. All presenters are
expected to attend the conference as paying participants; the organizing
committee is not able to sponsor any participants. Prospective authors must submit
their full paper in MSWord directly as an attached file through email by the
20th of August 2010. All proposals must be
original and have not been presented or submitted for consideration elsewhere.
The length of the full paper should normally be not more than 7000
words.
In writing the paper, prospective
authors are encouraged to follow the Chicago Citation style. All papers must be
in English. 
The full paper must include 
	1. name(s) and affiliation of (each) author, 
	2. name, organization, mailing address,
telephone, fax, and e-mail address, and a brief biography of the presenter(s), 
	3. an abstract (250 words or less), 
	4. full text of the paper, 
	5. a reference List. 
Accepted papers will be
published in the Conference Proceedings. Selected papers will considered for
publication in the
