We are seeking a highly motivated individual to work in the area of stereoselective catalysis for renewable polymers under the supervision of Professor Matthew Davidson in the Centre for Sustainable Chemical Technologies.

The project will be an exciting and stimulating opportunity to work at the interface of academia and industry in close collaboration with industrial partners in the Netherlands in order to scale up stereoselective polymerisation processes previously developed in the Davidson Group towards industrial production of new bioplastics.

The successful applicant will have (or be about to obtain) a PhD in Chemistry, Polymer Science, or a related discipline. Experience in any of the following areas would be advantageous: organometallic synthesis, polymer synthesis, polymer characterisation, polymerisation kinetics, polymerisation reactor design, polymerisation scale-up, bioplastics.

The post is funded though the award of a UK EPSRC Knowledge Transfer Fellowship and is available for a period of one year from 1st September 2010.
