Hi Sue, I would say that the most important thing about evaluation is to be systematic; just because the learning is informal, it doesn't mean that the evaluation is! Decide what it is that you expect people to get out of their learning, and write down what you hope to see as: Output: (how many attended; out of how many invited; how many stayed the full course; etc.) Outcomes: immediate benefits/improvements/enjoyment etc. Impact: whether they took what they learned further (this is difficult to measure, and you may not want to run follow-up). Then decide what you think are criteria for measuring these. Use these criteria to judge. It doesn't need to involve questionnaires or interviews (it can be ethnographic - i.e observation; or you may make a short list of questions to ask people informally). I was wondering if anyone has any good ideas, advice or examples of how I might do this?
